Hey, Apex, it's Andre. I'm often asked to define leadership. Well, I believe it means serving others without personal bias. Choosing what's right over what's easy. For me, that starts with listening, understanding other people's concerns, and working side-by-side to find solutions.
Over the years, I've worked with small business owners during difficult times. I would listen to their challenges, brainstorm some solutions, and work out a plan we both were confident in. Over time, several of them have asked me if I would formally mentor them, not because I offered, but because they value the trust and the guidance that they've received.
That's what leadership looks like to me: earning trust by showing up, listening, and helping others succeed. If I'm elected to Town Council, I commit to leading with transparency, maintaining open communication, and making decisions that best serve Apex now and in the future. I want residents to know they can count on their leaders to listen, respond, and follow through. That's the kind of leadership I'll bring to Apex.
